Jason has over 10 years of experience working in mental health. He began working in the NGO sector with children and families before receiving a Dual Master’s degree in Social Work and Science from the University of Michigan in 2018. In addition to direct clinical work, he currently sits on the Board of Directors for BCCSW and is a research associate at the University of Calgary examining best practices in mental health.
Jason specializes in treating mood, stress, and trauma-related disorders, such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma and grief. Jason believes there is no single method that will perfectly meet someone’s needs, so he helps clients meet their goals by utilizing best practices found in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy. More than anything, he believes that the most important thing in therapy is the relationship between the client and counselor, and strives to create a safe and open environment for clients to explore their innermost thoughts and feelings.
When he has free time, Jason enjoys cooking, traveling, playing board games, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
Specialties: trauma, anxiety, depression, child and family issues.
